About me.

I help those struggling to navigate depession, anxiety, big life transitions, relationship/family/marital issues, adjusting to medical illness or injury, grief & loss, and living with the impacts or recent or past trauma.

My approach to growth and healing draws from traditional talk therapy, experiential, and mindfulness practices; with a trauma-informed lens. I believe that knowledge is power, and will help you understand how the body and mind respond to stress/safety to develop more curiosity and self-compassion vs. shame and guilt. We are all trying to find solutions to our problems, however sometimes those solutions have just created more problems for ourselves. Therapy is great tool to help us better understand ourselves, and to practice compassion to our wounded parts. Together, we will walk a new path towards increased self-confidence and sustained growth beyond therapy. My sessions with you are collaborative and conversational. Sessions can be solutions focused for a few months, or an ongoing therapeutic relationship for years.

My professional experience includes working with youth, families, adults, and seniors from diverse backgrounds that include BIPOC, LGBTQ+, migrant and refugee communities. Prior to opening my own therapy practice, I have worked in residential treatment facilities for youth and young adults, including foster care and substance abuse recovery programs. I have worked with adults in outpatient mental health clinics, trauma and domestic violence clinic, and in medical/healthcare facilities.

I support the American Alpine Club Climbing Grief Fund that connects individuals to mental health professionals and resources in the climbing, alpinism, and ski mountaineering community. I am also a volunteer guide with Wild Grief based in Olympia, WA providing guided programs in nature, free of charge, to grieving youth, families and people of all ages.

I am originally from Upstate New York and lived and practiced in New York City, Maine, and Utah prior to moving to Seattle, Washington. I thrive being in the mountains, have traveled to 30+ countries, and lived in Nepal. I love learning about the world and find being a therapist and social worker a privilege to gain perspective outside of my own and feel the power of human connection.
